What members get

Committed for Year 1

  • Member directory and peer discussion channel (Slack or equivalent)
  • Founding Member recognition: lifetime, in chapter materials
  • Discount on the inaugural conference, subject to chapter board approval (when announced)
  • Member-only networking events (in person and online)
  • Priority access to chapter announcements and opportunities
  • A voice in shaping the chapter as it forms: input sought on direction

Honest about Year 1

  • We are new. No multi-year track record.
  • Year 1 is focused on administrative foundation: bylaws, governance, infrastructure. Operational programmes scale up after charter approval.
  • Founding Members and Students pay no fee in Year 1. Membership fees from paying tiers support chapter operations.
  • We may host educational sessions in Year 1, subject to ISC2 confirmation. Chapter cannot submit CPEs on behalf of members until officially chartered.
  • Membership in Year 1 is closer to community investment than to consumption.
  • Conference is subject to chapter board approval, once the chapter is officially chartered.
  • We will not promise what we cannot deliver. Anything aspirational is labelled.
Boundaries

What we will not do

Sell access to members

Sponsors cannot buy access to our member directory or communications channels. Sponsorship is for chapter activities, not member targeting.

Endorse products commercially

The chapter does not endorse vendors or products. Members may share their practitioner experience with tools and solutions they have implemented, but we do not host commercial product pitches.

Take political positions

We do not endorse parties, candidates, or political movements. We engage on policy matters when relevant to cybersecurity, professionally and neutrally.

Promise what we cannot deliver

Anything aspirational is labelled. We do not over-promise to drive recruitment. Trust compounds slower than it erodes.

Operate without governance

Bylaws are under legal review. We will not bypass them once in place. Officers are accountable to documented procedures, not personal discretion.

Tolerate violations of ethics

ISC2 Code of Ethics and chapter Code of Conduct bind everyone: officers, members, partners. Violations have consequences.
